Our Legacy

In 1939, seven Ingalls shipyard workers shared a vision and founded a credit union offering savings accounts and loans to coworkers. On a muggy afternoon under an oak tree on the east bank of the Pascagoula River, the Mutual Benefit Credit Union held its first Board of Directors Meeting. The name was soon changed to Ingalls Employees Credit Union, and decades of consistent growth followed.

In 2003, IECU became Navigator Credit Union to reflect the broad coastal base we've grown to serve. After more than eight decades of partnership, we know the needs of shipyard employees better than anyone else. Because of our uniquely shared heritage, we're pleased to offer products and services available only to Ingalls employees.
