Your new card will feel smooth. This card is not embossed for added security. And your name and card number are on the back for additional privacy.

This free service eliminates the worry of identity theft. It monitors and alerts you of any suspicious activity on your debit card. Activation is required.

Why is Navigator Credit Union issuing new Mastercard® debit cards to current VISA® debit cardholders?
To improve the products and services we offer our members, the Credit Union decided to enhance our current debit program by switching from VISA® to Mastercard®, which offers several enhanced features for cardholders.
When will this change occur?
Navigator will mail out new Mastercard® debit cards in August. If you do not receive a new debit card by Sunday, Sept. 22, visit a branch on or after Tuesday, Sept. 24, to receive a free instant issue Navigator Mastercard®.
When will mobile wallets be available?
Mobile wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay) will be available soon. The new debit card and features such as mobile wallet are rolling out in stages. We will announce this feature’s availability on our website and Facebook.
Will the new card look the same?
No. Your new card features a sleek new design that will feel smooth without embossing for added security. And your name and card number will be on the back for added privacy.
Do I get to choose my card design?
All Navigator debit/ATM cardholders will be issued the default design. If you would like a different design, you may do so for a replacement fee of $5. The different designs will be available in-branch after Monday, Sept. 23.
Will my debit card number change?
Yes. Since Navigator is issuing new Mastercard® debit cards, all debit card numbers will change.
Do I have to request a new Mastercard® debit card?
No. If you currently have a Navigator VISA® debit or ATM card, you will automatically receive a new Navigator Mastercard® debit card during the reissue period.
I only have a Navigator ATM card. Will I receive a Mastercard® debit card?
Yes, you will be issued a Navigator Mastercard® debit card. This new card will function like an ATM card but with enhanced fraud protection features like an EMV chip.
What should I do once I receive my new card?
On or after Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, activate your new Navigator Mastercard® debit card by calling the number on the sticker on the front of your new debit card. You may also activate your card through Digital Banking under card services.
The new debit card will not work before the Sept. 23, 2024 activation date.
Are there costs or fees associated with replacing my current Navigator VISA® debit card?
There is no fee associated with getting your new Mastercard® debit card.
Will my existing card alerts be converted to the new card?
No. You will need to re-establish alerts for your new Mastercard® debit card.
How long can I continue to use my current Navigator VISA® debit card?
You may continue using your Navigator VISA® debit or ATM card until midnight Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024. You must begin using your new card on or after Sept. 23.
Once you have successfully activated your new credit card on Sept. 23, cut up the old debit/ATM card and safely destroy it.
I have merchants that charge my Navigator VISA® card monthly. Will I have to notify those merchants?
(Ex. Netflix, insurance companies, Amazon, Apple, utilities)
Yes. Your new debit card will come with a new number. Be sure to update any pre-authorized or recurring charges, such as cable, utilities, insurance, subscription services, etc.
The good news is that if you need a new debit card number due to a lost or stolen card, Mastercard® will automatically update the information on your card on file.
