What are fake website scams?

Fake website scams, also known as “phishing sites,” are artificially created websites that mimic the appearance of reputable financial institutions. Cybercriminals create these sites to gain access to private information like login credentials, credit card numbers, or personal identification details.

What to look for:

  • The URL – Always verify the web address in the browser bar
  • Security features – A secure website will have a padlock icon in the address bar
  • Poor design – Many fake websites have poor graphics, spelling errors or awkward phrasing. Trust your instincts!

When in doubt, call Navigator.

If you think you have entered any Navigator account information on a fake website, please change your passwords immediately and contact us. We will assist you in securing your accounts and addressing any potential issues.
